DevOps Systems Engineer
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify & develop scripts and tools needed using various languages (Python, Java, shell, etc) for automating manual tasks.
• Supporting eBay cloud environment. (VMware, OpenStack, KVM, Storage, Network, Image and etc.)
• Installation, Management, and administration of various flavors of UNIX including Red Hat & Ubuntu Linux, Solaris 10
• Performance tuning, configuring & upgrading Operating Systems and Patches
• Do proactive monitoring on the health of Unix and Compute Infrastructure and implement tools to report out system parameters.
• Work in emergency situations related to downtimes, Application and system upgrades and critical incidents and 24x7 availability over phone and in person.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong systems administration skills with Unix like Operating System.
• Expert understanding of system internals, networking and large scale distributed systems.
• Excellent English and communication skills
• Experience with Web development (Python/Java/Jscript) is a plus.
